6/30/17-7/4/17 A Glorious Send-off

Family, our favorite retreat and good friends provided a pleasant transition from our comfort zone.

A long weekend at Mink Pond Club, our personal slice of heaven, eased us into our travels. Our grandchildren, children and friends provided laughs, love and many hours of complete relaxation. Early solitary fishing forays into the cove of the lake, as the sun rose, reinforced my spiritual connection with this place.  "Girl fishing" with my daughters and granddaughter  produced  lots of laughs and a healthy string of fish.  The "Boys", still too young for boating, charmed us with their smiles. A mother bear and her three cubs made life even more interesting!

A day after a tearful good-bye to my newest grandson (and his parents),  we headed out to North Jersey for an wonderful "bonus day" with dear friends. Pool time, good food and lots of little ones added another dimension to our departure. That night, as the rest of our family drove off , I knew that the void left by the slowly diminishing tail lights of their car would be temporarily filled with all the unknowns that lay ahead of us.

Today we made the final split. Together with our hosts and long time road companions, we headed over the border into New York. Riding along the Hudson, we mounted the Catskills. Parting with our friends at the Taconic Parkway, we flew solo for the first time of this trip. The Berkshires opened to us and lovely small towns flew the American flag proudly.

We ended our day somewhere north of Lenox, MA. Alone again on the road, we are ready to roll. Itinerary:vague; expectations:none; adventures:awaiting; us:together. Life couldn't be better!
